The summer of 2021 has finally arrived, and with the dark COVID-19 cloud slowly fading, it appears that the beginning of live music’s comeback is finally getting underway, after nearly fifteen months of endless livestreams, socially distanced shows, cancelled tours, and shuttered festivals.
A live show is one of the very best aspects of being a music lover. It’s a communal experience where you get to indulge in the music you love, and connect with those that share your passion for the band or artist you’re there to see. For the performers, it’s their opportunity to build a special connection with their audience while enjoying the fruits of their labor and talents by bringing their songs and records to electrifying life.
It’s an understatement to say that we’re ready for the return of live music. While this summer concert season may not yet completely resemble those of the pre-pandemic world, it’s an exhilarating sight to see things slowly going in that direction back to normalcy. It’s been a long time coming for fans, artists, bands, and all of those hard-working individuals and venues who depend on the live music business as livelihood.
To celebrate the comeback of live music, The 706 will be running a series of features throughout the summer with a live music theme. I hope you enjoy the content, but most importantly, I hope you get the opportunity to check out a live show in your area very soon!
